Kings XI Punjab added two more players in the team by buying Yusuf Abdullah and Mohammad Kaif in today's thrilling IPL 2010 auction in Mumbai. Commenting on the additions to the team this year, the Promoters shared: "We are very excited about IPL 2010 being organized in India. The frenzy and fanfare will definitely be bigger and better this season. We want to win the Cup (this year), with an extremely well balanced team in place and we hope to give a tough fight. Further additions to the team today have strengthened our capability and we can't wait for the game to begin!" Mohammad Kaif is a middle-order batsman who made it to the national team on the strength of his performances at the under-19 level, where he captained the Indian team to victory in the Under-19 World Cup in 2000. He can be both defensive and aggressive as the situation demands. On the other hand, Yusuf Abdulla has also been confirmed as one of the KXIP team players. He is currently one of South Africa's leading domestic-competition bowlers and has also played first class cricket. Yusuf played exceptionally well last year when he was subsequently added to the Kings XI Punjab's Indian Premier League squad as a replacement following an injury to Jerome Taylor. |
